Frequently Asked Questions

What should first-time homebuyers in Washington know before starting?

Buying a home is a journey, and the best way to start is by talking to someone who has done it before. I have walked alongside homebuyers no matter how long or complicated the road gets. Your Realtor is your advisor, advocate, research assistant, sounding board, and guide—there to help you sort through the information, navigate the process, and make decisions with confidence.

How much does it cost to buy a home in Tacoma, WA right now?

That depends entirely on what budget we are working in, there are homes well above and below that point. The important thing is that the property serves your lifestyle, budget and goals.

What’s the current housing market like in Tacoma and Pierce County?

For the most up-to-date information about the housing market in Tacoma, check out my Real Estate Market Updates.

Do I need a down payment to buy a house in Washington State?

The most qualified professional to answer that question is a lender, and I know plenty. I will connect you with lenders that suit your goals, lifestyle, and personality. We’re building a team for you. We can chat about where you’re at and answer any questions in an intro call.

What areas of Pierce County do you serve?

My focus is on Tacoma and Lakewood but I am pleased to serve all of Pierce County and some parts of Kitsap and Thurston counties.

How long does it typically take to buy a home in Tacoma?

Once we have your pre-approval it can take 30-90 days to find the right property. If all the components are in alignment, it could be possible to close in 2 weeks(ask me about this when we meet). I’ll be with you every step of the way from pre-approval, to looking at houses in person, getting an offer accepted, working through the inspection, and getting the transaction closed(SOLD!).

Is now a good time to invest in Pierce County real estate?

The best time to invest is when you’re ready. Properties can be a great way to build equity, while we see values continue to grow. We’ll work together to ensure that we’re honoring your long-term goals and lifestyle during our search.

Should I sell my current home before buying a new one?

There is not a one size fits all answer for this question, there are many components to consider, including but not limited to; your timeline, your financing, your capacity. This is something that we would work together with your lender to decide so that we can build that into our strategy.

When should I sell my house?

The best time to sell your house is when it suits you. I’m happy to share my market insights and bring data to show you how to best present your home in the current market. I have a free tool called Homebot that brings those insights into your inbox each month, so you can keep a closer eye on your equity- sign up in the box below to start getting your personalized home stats.
